Hindu deity who is known to help remove obstacles from your path. He helps people succeed in their endeavors and is always compassionate. Ganesh was molded from clay by the goddess Parvati out of loneliness while her husband Shiva was away. When Shiva returned, it was to find a boy he didn't know guarding his wife's bath. When Ganesh refused him entrance, Shiva cut off his head. Hearing the commotion, Parvati came out and was obviously upset to find her new son slain. Turning into her wrathful aspect, she defeated Shiva. She then told him that he would replace her son's head with the head of the first creature he saw. That is how Ganesh gained his elephant head
