The Dorje is used in ceremonies to destroy ignorance and it cannot itself be destroyed. It is a symbol of the Indra, as well as symbolizing the male principle in Tantric rituals. It is used with the Bell, which represents the female principle. Shaped like a scepter with two symmetrical prongs extending from a central sphere, the dorje embodies powerful symbolism. Often used in ritualistic practices and ceremonies, it represents both the indestructible nature of enlightenment and the unyielding strength required to achieve it. In Tibetan Buddhism, the dorje is paired with a bell, with the bell symbolizing wisdom and the dorje symbolizing method. Together, they signify the union of wisdom and skillful means in the path to enlightenment.
